Driver's seat is broken. There is no back support.

(2002 Toyota Corolla)
in Harwood Heights, IL on April 21, 2011
Where would we be able to get the driver's seat fixed? Would we have to go to a junkyard, find a driver's seat, and have it installed? How much would the seat and the repair cost? Thanks

To fix the seat it is likely the upholstery will have to be removed to either weld the frame replace whats broken, probably cheaper to source a second hand seat. When trying to locate or find second hand parts, the best way post a request to many wrecking yards at the same time is to Google the words "wrecking yard parts" or "used auto parts" if you want to be a little more specific enter the manufacturer of your vehicle example "Toyota used parts". May links appear that allow you to enter the details of your vehicle and the parts you are looking for. This request is then sent out to thousands of wrecking yards through out the country and they then send you an email or give you a call with the price and availability of the part. it is the wrecking yard that pays a small commission for the service.

cost of repairing yours would depend on who did the work;but should be around $75. you can pick one up at the junk yard for $5o-$65.
