DOES THE TIMING BELT REALLY NEED CHANGED OUT AT ONE HUNDRED THOUSAND MILES

(2008 Volkswagen Passat)
in Woodbridge, VA on January 26, 2013
The VW dealer wants $1400 to replace the timing belt but they say other things are included like seals and water pump but seems like they may not need to be replaced just inspected. Does this sound like a rip-off

If this belt breaks, it will cost 3 times that much ,or more, to repair! Not a bad price at all for all the work you stated.
And yes it is time to get this done!
