When trying to remove the heater box after the dash is out, I cannot pull the assembly holding the heater out due to the pot that is part of the airconditioning system. I can't figure out how to disconnect it to remove the heater. The box holding the heater motor and the other controls will not come out due to this pot?????

that is the h valve on the firewall side. after you remove the ac lines, there is 2 bolts inside that will release the valve.
