The parking brake mechanism is made up of a series of brake components that secure the rear wheels when the parking brake is engaged. A portion of the parking brake lever, called the clutch drum, may not allow the vehicle to remain secured. This means the vehicle may roll unexpectedly, which is a safety issue.

We at RepairPal have designated this a medium priority recall; this would change to high if any problems are noted with the parking brake system. Please contact your Chrysler, Jeep, or Dodge dealer. They will check to see if your specific vehicle is affected and advise you on what to do next. Always have your vehicle identification number (VIN) handy when you call.
