Chrysler group llc (chrysler) is recalling certain model year 2011-2014 chrysler 300, dodge charger, challenger, and durango; and 2012-2014 jeep grand cherokee vehicles manufactured april 22, 2010, to january 2, 2014, and equipped with a 3.6l engine and a 160 amp alternator. in the affected vehicles, the alternator may suddenly fail.

The alternator can fail, causing loss of electrical power and possible engine stalling.

Chrysler began notifying owners of affected vehicles in November 2014. You can check with your dealer to see if your vehicle is involved in this program. It is helpful to have your VIN (Vehicle Identification Number) on hand when you contact them. The Chrysler recall number is P60.

On vehicles equipped with a V6 engine, the battery cable to the starter motor could short circuit and catch fire. Chrysler is advising owners of affected vehicles not to drive or park in, or near any structures until the problem has been corrected.
