Do motor mounts usually fail on the 2010 Jeep Patriot?

Our 4 x 4 2.4L 2010 Jeep Patriot idles rough … only in drive, not in neutral or reverse. The dealer says the passenger side motor mount has failed. Is this a persistent problem on this model?
What seems to make the problem better or worse? Putting the transmission in neutral makes the idle smooth.
How long have you had this problem? A few months

Not an inherent problem that I’m aware of - some contributing factors are - driving habits - engine bay fluids contamination - just a failed part.

Engine torque naturally exerts greater force on right (“passenger”) side engine mount when transmission is in drive position.

Vehicles that are shifted into reverse frequently - backing up each trip - will tend to wear the right engine mount more quickly - jack rabbit starts or high engine idle speed (rpms) is also harmful.
