You have to figure out whether the spark or fuel pressure is failing. The likely possibilities are that the fuel pump is failing and needs to cool off to start running again or the ignition module (also called HEI module), in the distributor, is failing in the heat. I think the most likely ignition failure is the HEI module, and that's what I would suspect first in your case.

thanks, for the reply, but i must ad that my 96g10 chevy van has the 5.0l vortek engine, and is a cmp fuel injected model, A lso it does not have the HEI distributor, it has a flat cap distributor with the camshaft sensor located inside . Could the ignition/key switch cause the fuel pump prime circuit to be intermitant? Also, it has a Omni technologies 500 alarm system, witch i got no manuel for since i bought the van used. Could it be malfuctioning, and shuting down one or the other? Please need more tech service. this is my only transportation. thanks again, whiskeythor57
