I have been having service from Curt's for quite a long time and they have been outstanding in their service and in helping me with little things my husband and I could not do for ourselves. We are old senior citizens that are no longer able to do a lot for ourselves these days so we appreciate their friendly assistance for all our van problems. I thank them for being there.

Stella, There is no preset number of miles that must be driven to run the drive cycle. To complete the drive cycle, the vehicle must be driven long enough to put the vehicle in enough different conditions for the computer to run enough self tests to determine that it is "ready". Generally speaking, if the vehicle is driven on a combination of surface streets & freeways it will take about a week to go through all of the tests. Any Repair pal shop can get you a copy of the drive cycle, but it is somewhat confusing.

No it does not mean that your engine is gone. It means that water or coolant is getting into the engine oil. This can come from multiple different locations. The most likely causes are head gaskets, intake gaskets, oil coolers, or cracked engines. Engine problems are a possibility, but I hate to jump to a worst case scenario without proper testing.
