Cracked windshield

(2003 Volvo S60)
in Chicago, IL on April 30, 2009
Is it preferable to have a cracked windshield replaced by the dealer or a glass shop that will do the job at my home? What is a reasonable cost? Thanks.

Joan, many dealerships (all in my area) sublet windscreen replacement.
Ensure that if you do select a "glass shop" to replace your windscreen that they use proper vehicle manufacturer type windscreen seals are used and not generic universal seal is used.
