Compass and outside temperature gauge no longer work.

(2006 Toyota Tacoma)
in Fork Union, VA on May 24, 2011
The compass and temperature gauge no longer work in my 2006 Tacoma. Is there a simple part I can purchase for this and fix it? Or, do you have to replace the whole item inside the vehicle? Any suggestions? I miss seeing what the temperature is outside from inside my vehicle.

You need the system diagnosed. The power to the panel or ground circuit may have failed, for instance. The panel itself could have failed. It's good to check things out before replacing expensive parts.
