Cold air blows, but not through the vents

(2003 Ford Taurus)
in Dayton, OH on August 05, 2009
The Taurus I have is blowing cold air from the bottom of the car, but not through the vents, I don't know why this is or really where to begin. Cold air isn't the problem, and the only place the air isn't going through is the vents in the front. Any advice would be awesome. Thanks.

Sounds like the system that controls the airflow is having a problem. Vehicles use little motors to operate flaps and doors to divert airflow to the different vents in the vehicle. These motors can be electrical, vacuum operated or cable operated. To diagnose the problem, you should have a good quality repair manual so you can diagnose this system. Try the online manuals at alldatadiy.com or chiltonpro.com.
