Clutch is squishy and it is difficult to shift, often grinding gears. Pls advise

Approximately one week ago I began to notice I was grinding gears when shifting, which I attributed to inattention at first, but then I noticed i was experiencing gradually increasing difficulty in shifting and gear grinding. Today, sept. 24th, the clutch went soft and shifting difficulty has increased to the point that I believe it is unsafe to drive the car.

Mechanic needed to check this out for you hands on! Most likely suspect is low fluid from a leaking master/slave cylinder or the line between the two. All of these parts are external and can be replaced without trans. removal.

you either need a new clutch or you have a bad slave cyl either way will probably have to pull the tranny to inspect it

AGREE WITH GOODGUY BUT IF SLAVE IS LEAKING REPL BOTH SLAVE CYL AND CLUTCH MASTER AT THE SAME TIME. CK FLUID LEVEL IN CLUTCH MASTER CYL
