On March 13, 2015, Chevrolet recalled 50,236 Chevrolet Volt. General motors llc (gm) is recalling certain model year 2011-2013 volt vehicles manufactured august 25, 2010, to june 26, 2013. if the driver exits the vehicle without turning off the electrical system, the battery may drain low enough that the gasoline engine will automatically start itself to recharge the electric battery.

The engine may start in error automatically after exiting the vehicle.

General Motors will notify owners of affected vehicles (a timetable for this notification is not available at the time of this writing). If you notice the vehicle starting unexpectedly after exiting, or wish to see if your vehicle is included in this program, you can contact the dealer. It is helpful to have your VIN (Vehicle Identification Number) on hand when you contact them. The General Motors recall number is 14617.

Four Volt vehicles are being recalled because one or both front brakes may lock up and not release.

Chevrolet will notify owners of affected Volt models beginning July 12, 2013. If you don't receive notification and you feel you should have, please contact your dealer for further instruction. They may ask for your vehicle identification number (VIN), so please have it handy when you call. The Chevrolet recall number is 13184.
