On November 14, 2005, Chevrolet recalled 14,600 Chevrolet Uplander. Certain sport utility vehicles fail to conform to the requirements of federal motor vehicle safety standard no. 135, 'passenger car brake systems.' to meet the standard, the vehicle must not move for five minutes when stopped on a steep hill with the parking brake applied and the vehicle in neutral (n). some of these vehicles failed this test.

On certain vehicles the parking brake may not operate properly. Resulting in unintended moment of vehicle and possibility of crash. 

GM will notify customers of affected vehicles beginning November 14, 2005. If you have not been contacted, find parking brake problems and think your vehicle falls under this recall. You should contact your local dealership. It is helpful to have your VIN Vehicle Identification Number ready when doing so.

The outboard release handle on a second row bucket seat may be activated during a side impact crash. This could cause the rear seat latches to disengage, increasing the risk of injury to the seat occupant.
