2012 Chevrolet Silverado 3500 HD Recall Details

RepairPal Expert Overview on October 19, 2017

The rear fuel tank and front fuel tank work together to balance fuel levels during normal vehicle operation and filling of fuel tanks. At times, the rear fuel tank may overfill the front fuel tank because the front tank low fuel level sensor may stick. This can cause the front fuel tank to expand and contact the drive shaft, which could cause a hole to develop in the front fuel tank and result in a fire hazard.
