On May 28, 2015, Chevrolet recalled 330,198 Chevrolet Silverado 2500 HD. General motors llc (gm) is recalling certain model year 2007-2008 chevrolet silverado 2500hd and 3500hd trucks manufactured november 28, 2006, to august 29, 2008, and 2007-2008 gmc sierra 2500hd and 3500hd trucks manufactured november 27, 2006, to august 29, 2008. the affected vehicles are equipped with a passenger side frontal air bag that may be susceptible to moisture intrusion which, over time, could cause the inflator to rupture upon its deployment.

When deployed in a crash, the passenger front air bag inflator can rupture. As a result, metal fragments from the inflator can strike occupants.

General Motors will notify owners of affected vehicles (a timeline of this notification is unavailable as of the time of this writing). You can check with your dealer to see if your vehicle is involved in this program. It is helpful to have your VIN (Vehicle Identification Number) on hand when you contact them. The General Motors recall number is 15438.

The fusible link for the auxiliary battery can melt due to too much current being drawn from it. This can increase the risk of a fire.
