Check engine light that scans "Emission Gross Leak" I change the gas cap...

and a hose from the trotle body... the car is a stick, it sounds like it want to die when I am at a stop and sputter when I am in 1st, 2nd, 3rd and 4th gear, I dont have any problems on the freeway in 5th gear yet... this is my only transortation to work. And I dont have the money to take it into a shop. Please help!

i would look at the hoses very carefully. there is one or more leaking causing the leak. without a smoke machine, it will not be easy.

Thank you so much for responding... I didnt know what else to do... will this cause the car to leave me stranded??

it wont strand you. it will just let gas into the atmosphere. i would have it repaired when it is a better time.

Like Roy stated, the Evap systems are very difficult to locate leaks without the proper equipment that a AAA/ASA Repair Shop would have. Even with the right equipment it is sometimes difficult to locate these leaks. I would recommend getting your vehicle into a known reliable shop and have them do the hard work of diagnosing.
