Check Engine light on

(2001 Ford Ranger)
in Reno, NV on August 02, 2009
I've changed the egr pressure sensor and made sure the tubes were clear but the check engine light is still on. Can I reset this?

A scan tool is needed to clear the code from the memory of the computer. Even a generic scan tool will work. Disconnecting the battery will also work but you loose radio memory and other memory strategies. The computer its self will turn off the light if it passes two drive cycles and no longer sees a fault in the EGR system, it has to do a specific self test under certain driving conditions.
