Illumination of the Check Engine Light can be caused by a loose or worn gas cap.

    Service vehicle soon light on and message said check for loose gas cap. Problem solved by replacing worn and deteriorating fuel pressure harness which is attached to the fuel pressure regulator. Does not require a mechanic to do really. GM part #2450-6640.

    gas cap loose warning light comes on.
    I replaced the gas cap with a new one and it does the same thing from time to time and the gas cap seems to be tight.

    that happened to me too but u can kinda fix it by disconnecting and reconnecting the negative battery cable. it resets the computer.
