A coolant leak may develop from the water pump. When replacing the water pump, the drive belt tensioner should be inspected and most likely replaced as well.

water pump was leaking badly,,went to replace it and the wonderfull people in bristol that worked on it years ago (not driven 25 miles since they did) didnt install the tensioner correctly and i guess its all up to me to foot the bill now.....benz house shut down for a reason !
