Changed out waterpump,thermostat,hoses.wprk at first now no gage reading or heat

Idled to running temp fine.Drove it 2 miles then gage went to cold.Heat luke warm.Does not over heat.temp won't register

Defective thermostat... 'Stuck' in open position after driving vehicle.

You either have an air pocket or you are building combustion gasses from a blown head gasket creating a pocket. Try bleeding more air out of the cooling system.
