Cd player

(2002 Ford Taurus)
in Castleton, VA on June 29, 2010
when the 6 disk cd changer is inserted into the holding area in the center console, it displays "CDE" on the head unit display. The radio, tape player works fine. You can hear the changer make noises likes it trying to work, but just wont play the cd's.

There might be a problem with the 'eye' in the cd player and first are you sure that the cd's are in the holder tray the right way? My cd player says there's a bad disk on some of the cd's that I have burned meaning the file format of the cd is unreadable to the player

I also have had some discs with burnt music that would not play, said bad disc. CDE means there's a problem with the cd player. Check for any sign of moisture or corrosion. Also I have an extra 6 place cd changer around that you could plug right in. I would sell it for $100 and you pay the shipping.
