Q: car wont start dash lights go out except ints. lights stay on.also the headlight on 1996 Cadillac DeVille

also the headlights come with it in park as I turn the key. I have a small chip in my raised chipped ignition key. is the key the problem? or is the ignition bad w/ the key. I believe it has something 2 do w/ the anti-theft. please help

disconnect the battery wait one half hour then reconnect..if still doesnt work then yes it maybe the key..

thank you, ProfessorG , I got in the car and i wrote 4 help and it started... i just put a used intake,w/ the metal fuel rail & left the injectors in it. gonna put my old 1 in plus broke the top of pintell , i am going to dealership & have the key checked. If the security light doesn't light - the problem is not the anti-theft or passlock. The key is probably fine if the chip is not broken.
Yea, that's what i was thinking,could it be the cluster?? i'm not 4 sure what that is yet.. do u know anything about : Valucraft/TruGrade/Relay - Anti-Theft :??? autozone website says it a fuel relay..????

I'm use to it, and after all the stupid answers he has been giving all night. Not sure of Auto Zone parts, I do know the Anti Theft will stop the fuel to the engine, causing it not to start. Are you getting fuel to the fuel rail? Thinking the Anti Theft stopped injector pulse causing injectors not to operate. Have you ever in the past, had the horn honk after opening the door in security mode. The solution is to lock and unlock the driver door with the key to stop the horn from honking, might give it a try.
yes getting fuel but haven't checked the pressure on line yet.. ijust put in a starter,intake,and throttle body,w/ metal fuel rail and got it all from junkyard, i left the injectors in the new (used) fuel rail. The one i had was plastic and popped a hole n it.i took everything off my car and install the used parts i swapped out the pintle,(or mass air flow sensor)on the black plastic part that attaches 2 throttle body,throttle position sensor,plus the one under that forget the name. And yes the p/s door does not lock w/ the electric lock so sometimes wife opens door w/ alarm on. ive always just put key in lock and unlocked it twice to the back never rearmed it to disarm it. is that what you think the problem is??

Sorry your reply went to spam file for some reason. You need to shut the door, use the key to lock and unlock, go both ways to reset it, not just one way. Not sure if that will help now, but that is the proper way. If you can find some Noid lights that fit your injector harness, the light will flash while cranking engine if you have injector pulse to work make injectors work. You need a fuel pressure gauge to test if the injectors are passing fuel to the cylinder.
