Car won't shift out of park.

YesterdY the car was running, when I went to put it in drive it wouldn't shift ,I turned it off for a minute, then it also wouldn't restart. Or shift at all

Turn the key 1 click only, not turn the run position, and see if the shifter will move to neutral. Then see if it will start. If so it is in your shift interlock system, which includes the signal from the stoplight switch.
