Car will not crank in park or neutral unless moved

car will crank unless gear shifter is moved forward and back in either park or neutral, is there a sensor, and where is it, can't find it

There is a switch incorporated into the shift lever assembly. You'll need to pull off the cover over the shift lever and check the switch. It may be loose, misadjusted or bad.
