Car runs very rough in park/driving. bad idling, now stalls@stop lights.pl help!

(2004 Ford Focus)
replaced oxygen sensor by radiator, battery, coil pack, checked plugs/wires. carb cleaner in gas tank. an air sensor$100.00 by air filter (size of a ps2 memory card). The car runs like its rich in gas like in the older cars-we use to have before computer shit came out. It also can drive up to 25mph by itself the rpm goes really high then instantly kick down and stall out. hope that helps.also if car doesnt stall right away it chugs mult. times then stalls out. sometimes can smell gas but not usually. I never had this problem until an idiot worked on my brakes and said the dealership gave me a car w/out e brakes and they were hanging there so he cut them off. brakes lights are on in dash. he did this last year though, i dont think its connected but thought I'd throw it in. I dont know where to look for those wires. If there are any other oxygen sensors? or is there a control sensor for air intake idle pressure? i dont know.. I'm 52 female, and bought a lemon, but made ford fix it, so I thought...lol..pl help. I dont know the codes but if I find out i'll let you know.

i find that egr valve is so forgotten about and its almost always a part noone likes to change or pay for, just unplug when running and if it idles differently, no need to change , also sounds like all your vacuum hoses got misplaced

Thanks for your help, I thought of the same reply you gave me yesterday. It said to spray carb. cleaner sometimes the valve gets stuck. should I clean it first? also, what will happen if the egr valve is bad when I unplug it? Will the car stall out or what? But, if it is ok, could it be another oxygen sensor on the bottom between the battery and the radiator. there is one down there I did not replace. I replaced the one by the radiator $100 and the air flow sensor $100 by the air filter on top. I also looked online and there is a brake sensor or sensors that can make my car shake horribly (when braking that is) I had an idiot fix my brakes and he cut my e-brake wire line since it wasn't working and the wires were hanging there (so he says) he cut them. which is screwing with my computer abs and brake light is on (on the dashboard) I think the computer is trying to compensate hmmm....brake fluid is full and yes I have brakes they shake/bunny hop bad and ever since he did this its been going mental and he wont tell me how to fix it or rewire the lines, so the faster I go and brake suddenly( like on the interstate) the car shakes violently, enough so that I wont take it on the interstate when its busy...too scarey!! I don't know if that problem is from the egr valve or the brake line being cut ( I have brake lights, brake fluid, brakes) but when the car is running rough andeither racing/idle or stalling/idle very rough the brakes are funny too. either coincidence or just the brakes being fixed by an idiot.. thanks I'll keep you posted about testing the egr valve :)
