car cuts off while idle at a light. then takes 5 to 10 min to start back up.

Either you have a loss of fuel or spark. In each case, the item that is failing corrects itself in 5-10 minutes. Could be a fuel pump or an ignition module, for example. Only by performing a test of fuel and spark at the time failure is in progress will give you the answer.
