Car makes 'winding up' noise starting, accelerating, turning. Power steering ?

Had P/S leak in the past. Now fluid levels are normal, but this winding up sound is present every time drive car. Sounds like a toy space ship. Worse on acceleration. Seems tight or hard to make turns.

A good PS flush may help but you need to have it looked at

Any time a leak is or was present in the P/S system and fluid gets low, the result is usually damaged pump and steering rack.. BEST FIX is replace both!!. That's what is probably going to have to be done to resolve this problem in the end anyway, have seen it too many times! Can try flush and refill first... Good luck.

The power steering rack could have a bind in it causing the power steering pump to whine while it's having to pump harder. You can try to add Bar's Leaks Power Steering Repair and pray that it clears up your problem. Good luck.
