Car keep over heating and dont know why

car full of water but has no thermstate. can drive 2 to 3 miles and car red hot

Many things can cause an engine to run hot and over heat. It could be a restricted radiator, failed cooling electric fan or fan electrical circuit, water pump failure (bad impeller) or a blown head gasket but proper diagnosis is needed to narrow down whats wrong.
