Car just keeps turning over

(1998 Nissan 200SX)
in Tampa, FL on February 24, 2012
have a 1998 Nissan 200SX it has been sitting for just under 2 years, We have decided to use it again. We were told that since there was less than an eighth of a tank of gas it should be ok to put a gas treatment in there and then fill it up. So what we have done so far is change the spark plugs and cords, replace the fuel filter, bought a new battery, and put some heet in the gas tank along with something lucas brand to help clean the injectors and think out the gunk in the tank.. But the car won't start it just keeps turning over, We used some starter fluid and it started but only for a few seconds and then turned off. What else should we check for??

I know this question is old but for all others two here you go first thing you need to do is see if your fuel pump is working if it only had a 1/8 tank off gas that person who told ya it was ok should of knew fuel pumps freeze up sitting in only air ! Take off the hose that comes out of your fuel filter have someone hold a small bucket underneath it as you turn ignition key forward to start engine release key pump will continue for a few seconds if your by your self take off the rear seats to latches under seat to release remove seat there you will see two cables a round 6 to 8 inch plat four screws your fuel pump and strainer is in side there attached to the bottom of the tank in plastic container with latch in middle replace it take a wet vac and suck all the fuel out and rust and junk in there that you loosened up by putting all that stuff in there and shot through your whole entire fuel system including your new fuel filter you just bought put your new fuel pump and strainer in if you want warranty if old strainer is good save $$ blow it with cleaner and air gun replace be careful with clip keeps strainer on NOTE beginners do all same day to remember how to put back together don't be afraid to take pictures with your phone if you are new to this so you have something you can look at how it originally was ;)
