Car is stuck in park and will not shift into any gear.

(2006 Dodge Charger)
in Hamburg, NY on September 03, 2012
Fine one day, stuck the next. Interlock from brake pedal and from pink clip in center console both fine. Interlock not the issue. Not sure if its the shifter solenoid, cable, or transmission itself. Car rocks back and forth and starts normal.

THE SHIFTER SOLENOID IS PART OF THE INTERLOCK. BUT IF LOCK IS WORKING
MAY APPLY PARK BRAKE CHOCK WHEELS THEN REMOVE SHIFT CABLE FROM
TRANS. SEE IF YOU CAN SHIFT BY HAND AT TRANS. IF SO THEN YOU KNOW
WHAT TO DO. OR HAVE TOWED TO SHOP FOR REPAIR.
