Car dies and idles high and low while in resting postion

the darn questionaire won't let me put in the actual year it is an..

1983 Thunderbird...It has been sitting for a year I have put in three "top grade gas" with fuel injection/carb. cleaner...still hasn't stopped stalling. Checked sparkplugs (good cond.) and fuel filter (replaced) both....any suggestions?? It has good days and bad days sometimes it will die at every stop and other days it won't die at all but when ever I am idleing it idles high and low...and then might die.

The problem is the idle speed regulator. it is located on top the engine, near the intake manifold

the engin run very good and then it just cut off ,as if i turn off the swicth.
