The Compass has a known problem of corrosion builing up on the hub area where the center of the wheel meets the hub, you may have to take it in to the dealer or a shop to have them lift the car for this proceedure. We had to let the wheel hang off the ground, break the lugnuts free, and apply blunt force to the back of the tire/wheel to get it to break free. TIP: Spay penetrating oil on the back of the wheel to assist in freeing the wheel from the rust!

They make a locking nut removal kit for this problem. You can buy them at Sears or most large parts stores.
