Cannot start with the key, but runs perfect when you push and start engine

(1990 Honda Civic)
In Bellevue for the first time. Car will run with no problem when you push it to start, but will not turn on with the key. Lights and all are working. Brand new battery

Sounds like the starter/starter solenoid has failed., needs to be properly diagnosed but that's most likely what you will find. See if you have power reaching the starter on the small wire when the ignition switch is turned to the start position (if not the ignition switch electrical portion has failed, it is replaceable separate to the ignition lock.

sounds like a starter motor failure. have it checked at a shop and verified.
