1997 Ford F-350 Question: CAN POWER STEERING FLUID AND BRAKE FLUID INTERMIX

i HAVE MY MOTOR HOME AT REPAIR FACILITY AND THEY STATE THAT i MUST CHANGE ALL OF MY STEERING COMPONENTS AND BRAKE HYDRAULICS DUE TO CONTAMINATION FROM BRAKE FLUID INTO THE POWER STEERING...THIS SEEMS ODD, BUT IF IT DOES THEN i MUST FIX ALL COMPONENETS?!

    did thy say how because it dosent seem possible to me both systems should be seperate

    i work in a heavy duty brake distributor and this happens more than you realize.The main problem is that p/s fluid is petroleum based,and causes all the rubber parts in the brake system to swell.think about that for a moment,master cyl,hoses,calipers,abs components,wheel cylinders all HAVE TO BE REBUILT OR REPLACED!metal lines must also be flushed with clean brake fluid.if not comepletely removed,the p/s fluid WILL cause complete brake hydraulic failure,not a pleasent time in a motor home,whose brakes are usually marginal to begin with.
