Can I change the ignition switch on my 89 Camaro to a non chip key switch?

I need xtra keys because of all the people that drive the car and at $54.00 a pop it will get expensive!

No you cant without a lot of headache! Visit your local locksmith shop, they can check the chip in your key, match the resistance value and cut as many as you want for a heck of a lot less than 54.00 per! Now, if that dont work, check ebay, they got vehicle specific ignition key blanks with VATS chip for about 9.00, i think. You just need to order and get cut at any place that cuts keys! Dont pay 54.00 each for keys to this car!
