Can any repairs be made to tranny without taking it out?

(1999 Honda CR-V)
The car was rolling forward and was put into reverse instead neutral. Now all gears work except reverse. When you put it in reverse it sounds like gears are touch but not going in gear. How much trouble is that to repair?
What seems to make the problem better or worse? Putting it in reverse
How long have you had this problem? Just started

Hey,

Its hard to say but my guess is that it will need some serious work. A gear grinding noise is going to be something internal and mechanical which almost always requires removal. Here is a link to find a shop near you.
