Bought used SRX from an individual, one morning driving son to school messages came on to check engine oil level, and something about temperature then car shuts off. Took to my mechanic, had to replace battery, wasn't holding charge,
did that, now engine won't start. Turns over but won't start. He said thinks it's exhaust issue, so thinks it will be I'll pay more than it's worth to check it out. So I understand him not wanting to mess with it. Things that were told to me when night vehicle, was the shifter made a clincking sound when putting into gear that a bushing needed to be replaced. I'm assuming something with the linkage? I noticed after driving it a couple times, it would slip gears every now and again. Any ideas as to why may not be starting?

Tank leaks

Making whinging noise when driving on hiway

over 40 miles per hour

Before coming down so I can start car

they adjust to each driver setting but sometime they pop when I put it in reverse

it sounds like everything in the under part of the rear is loose or is shaking

I just bought the car used and have not been able to get the time to buy a manual yet.

I've kept it up with tune up, new tires, brake pads, spark plugs. Say need trottle body should be done, radiator hoses, brake lines are rusty. Transmission service and transfer case service. Front right strut needs to be replaced. Plus, some kind of leak, but no oil is leaking on driveway. All for over $4,000. to repair. Is this all necessary?

Looks like the problem has been going on for a while but I just noticed it. I got my tires serviced around New Years of this year and they didn't mention anything to me about a problem with my rear tires. I'm concerned my car may not be safe to drive.

Fast, hard acceleration causes thumping, grinding noise. Getting louder. Told if I didn't fix it worse case is tire(s) would come off. It's been a year and haven't fixed it yet but need to go on a long drive with kids.

The rear left taillight went out on my 04 Cadillac SRX, although the brake light and turn signal still works. I've gotten mixed advice with some saying I have to replace the whole assembly and others saying it's a bulb. Any idea what I should check first? I don't want pay for an entire assembly if all I need is a bulb and the inspection is just about up.

I had gone to pick my grandson up from school and the car was running without problems but when I went to back out of the parking area the car died and wouldnt start again. Turning the key nothing happened, no sound as if the battery was completely dead. Jumper cables didnt work and charging the battery failed but the lights, radio, etc.. came on. The key turned causes a sound as if the battery just doesnt have enough power to start the engine. This is the only time I had any problems with this car. I only use premium gas and I change oil every 3,000 - 5,000 miles with Mobile 1 motor oil. I have taken great care of the car. It has the Northstar V8 in it. Thank you for any info you might be able to guve me!
