Cabin heat levels low in both of the 1990 DeVilles I've had.

(1990 Cadillac DeVille)
in Burlington, VT on March 19, 2014
Both 1990 DeVilles I've had don't/didn't deliver good cabin heat amounts . I live in northern Vermont and really need it in the winter. The cabin does eventually get warmish, but not toasty in very cold weather. The 'heated' air entering through the floor duct often seems only slightly warm at best even when I have it cranked to 90 degrees. . You'd think that a vehicle that is often owned by older people would have good heating as a major feature. Any perspectives on this problem? Thanks.

On a 1990 there is a lot of preventative maintenance that may need to be done. The heater core could be restricted, a lot of things can be considered. If everything was in good shape it would probably blow as hot as any new Cadillac.

Thanks for your reply.Besides replacing the heater core, what kind of PM would need to be done?

In the Cadillacs they usually put pellets in the cooling system to control small leaks and after time the heater core and cooling system should be flushed to insure the system stays clear the add more pellets to the radiator.
