Mercedes-Benz C240 4MATIC Problems

Clicking Noise From Behind Center of Dash on Mercedes-Benz C240 4MATIC

Problem Description and Possible Solution

A repetitive clicking noise from behind the center area of the dash panel is usually caused by a broken stepper motor actuating arm. The actuating arm controls the direction of air flow in the climate control system. Disassembly of the center console will be required to access and change the broken arm with the updated, reinforced part.

My 2003 C240 has the same broken stepper motor actuating arm. Since Mercedes has acknowledged the problem by creating an updated "stronger" part, will they replace it for free?
I can see the airflow vent clicking if I hold a mirror to the dash and the front window defroster doesn't push air. Any idea what the cost is to fix this stepper motor actuating arm?
Clicking noise from behind the dash on my 2001 C240 when started. Lasts for about 15-30 seconds then stops
I have the same problem . . . a clicking sound. It lasts for 2 to 3 minutes every time I start the car. My car was in dealers to have the ME Control Unit replaced - and when I picked it up, it started clicking. The dealer claims that the two are not connected. In other words, they are saying that the broken stepper motor arm isn't their fault - that it's just another coincidence.

Does anyone know if they are? I am so frustrated. It seems like one thing after another with this car.
No one could figure out where the noise was coming from . Im getting it looked at again and telling them to check out the stepper motor arm actuator. Ill give an update once its fixed.
Ac stepper motor. Air blows at face and up but ALWAYS blows at the feet regardless of where it's directed. Mercedes said it was a bad stepper motor and wants to charge me 760$! No way I'm gonna fix it myself. YouTube is awesome! 85$ part but they want 140$ and 600$ for installation. It's crazy how they make there money. Rediculous.
There is a clicking noise coming from the center of the dash board when I turn the air conditioner on. It is really load but goes away after a min. or so.
