Brake lights not working. Bulbs and fused checked and working Please hep.

The problem started a week ago. I was stopped by the Police and told I did ot have ay brake lights. I don't know where to start.

There should be a switch at the brake pedal that turns the brake lights on and off upon pressing the brake. The switch is likely faulty or the wiring connector on the switch could be melted. Check there next.
