Bose radio system no sound

(1998 Cadillac Seville STS)
in Wichita, KS on April 29, 2010
I have a 1999 STS. Recently when jumping the car the cables failed and shorted together. They were properly hooked to the hot lead by the fuse box under the hood and the ground on the fender wall. The battery was very dead and I think they failed under the load (they were cheap). With that stated, everything electrical in the car works fine except the Stereo sound. It is the Bose system. The radio powers on and the CD changer engages and acts like it's functioning but there is no sound. I have checked all the fuses I can identify as sound related but they are all good. Any suggestions?

You may have a problem with the radio amp on your 1998 Cadillac Seville. The amp is located behind the rear seat back - you may find access from the trunk. Check the audio and audio amp fuses in the rear junction box, under the rear seat.
