On October 30, 2015, BMW recalled 7,162 BMW 535d xDrive. Bmw of north america, llc (bmw) is recalling certain model year 2016 528i, 528i xdrive, 535i, 535i xdrive, 535d xdrive, m5, 550i, 550i xdrive, and 535d sedans. the affected vehicles have an inboard lower anchor for child restraints on the left rear seat that may have been bent downwards, preventing the child seat from fully engaging both lower anchors. as such, these vehicles may fail to comply with the requirements of federal motor vehicle safety standard (fmvss) number 225, "child restraint anchorage systems."

The anchor present to mount child seats securely into the vehicle on the left rear seat, inboard side may have been bent downwards. This would prevent the child seat from being mounted securely.

Recall repairs on your BMW must be performed by a BMW dealership. BMW will notify owners of affected vehicles in December, 2015. If you do not receive a notification, but wish to check to see if your vehicle is included, please contact one of your local BMW dealerships. They will also check for any other uncompleted recalls on your vehicle.
