The wiring and electrical connectors for the air flow portion heating and air conditioning system may overheat, resulting in melted wiring connectors and a fire risk, even when the vehicle is unattended. 

Recall repairs on your BMW must be performed by a BMW dealership. BMW will notify known owners of affected vehicles beginning in December, 2017. If you do not receive a notification, but wish to check to see if your vehicle is included, please contact one of your local BMW dealerships. They will also check for any other incomplete recalls on your vehicle. For best results, be prepared to provide your Vehicle Identification Number (VIN) to the service department consultant you speak with.

During an accident when the passenger frontal air bag should deploy to protect vehicle occupants, it may not deploy as needed due to deterioration of the passenger occupant detection mat. This would cause increased risk of occupant injury.

In the event of a crash, the front passenger airbag may not deploy as expected.

BMW will notify owners during January 2014. However, remedy parts are not yet available. A second notification will be sent when parts become available, this is expected to occur during March 2014. If you don't receive notification and you feel you should, please contact your dealer for further instruction.
