Q: blower motor fan not working on high on 1996 Pontiac Grand Prix

Rookie cbe0621eac06868b3efe0d8d1d3611e23c60d3114864ea2ec19a68cfbd3eebab
my blower motor fan is only working on the first three speeds, not on high, and my hot and cold is working but not my air conditioning on the first three speeds. i have two questions, the first is my problem the switch or the resistor and the estimate to repair it. the second question is if the blower motor itself could cause this problem if replaced with a defective motor or replaced incorrectly? thank you.

This sounds like it could be the switch, because in high mode, the switch bypasses the resistor block and puts full power right to the motor. If the blower motor works, then it is good to go and you said that it works fine on the lower speeds.
thank you for your response and what would be the estimate to replace the switch? and what about the other question i asked about if the blower motor itself could cause the switch to go bad if the blower motor was previously replaced with a defective motor or replaced incorrectly? thank you.
