Is it difficult to change out ball joints on a Ranger, and are any special tools required?

There is an upper and lower ball joint the time to replace the lower ball joint is about an hour to 1.2 hours. On the image I see in the repair manual it looks like the upper ball joints are part of the control arm.
These ball joints are a tapered fit in the steering knuckle. to separate them from the steering knuckle you have to shock the joint or take them a part with a "pickle fork" but it not a job you probably want to do at home yourself unless you have done a lot of work on your own cars in the past. Look up an image of the parts perhaps on Rock Auto or Partstrain.com both sites hava a lot of good parts images.
