Average cost for rear brake replacement

(2006 Volkswagen Passat)
in Chicago, IL on May 12, 2010
When I bought my CPO Passat I was given 1 year's worth of oil changes, tire rotation, etc. at no cost. On my last visit they informed me that I have 2mm left on my rear brakes. It annoyed me that they didn't replace the brake pads when I bought it, but then they told me it would be $395.00. I have heard that the warranty won't be voided if repairs are made with VW parts by a certified repair person - so I don't have to take it to the dealership to have service and repairs done.

Is $395.00 a fair estimate?
