Auto-trans does not auto into drive,seems stuck in second?

though all other manual and automatic functions seem fine in any other manual gear setting, reverse, low and second, but does not seem to shift into high gear automatically, or even when put into drive manually.

If your transmission stays in 2nd gear, this is called "Limp In " mode in which the Transmission Control Module (TCM) Has detected a fault in the system and locked the transmission in 2nd gear so you can drive the vehicle to a dealership or repair shop.
