air bag light comes on will not go off

This warning light also known as Supplemental Restrain System (SRS) indicates there is a fault condition in the system that controls the air bags, seat belts and any additional safety features. I strongly recommend you to bring your car as soon as possible to a qualified technician and troubleshoot the problem with the right tools.

Something simple to check yourself would be the passenger airbag deactivation switch located under the ash tray. If the "off" bulb is burned out, odds are that's where the problem is. Bad news, requires replacement of the entire switch - not just the bulb.

if the bulb is burnt you can get the mini bulb from radio shack in a three pack take out the circuit board and solder a new one in, i did it in 20minutes for 3bucks, google airbag 27 code ford ranger for more details
