A/c stops cooling after a minute

(1994 Pontiac Firebird)

1.the a/c cools fine but after a minute the clutch of the compressor kicks out what can be the reason?
2.can somebody tell me were is the thermostat of the a/c positoned and were are the wiring goes to?

if u lost some of freon it can shutoff from the low pressure switch

THE GAS WAS CHECKED OK AND THEY THINK IT'S THE thermostat of the a/c.
do you know were is the thermostat positoned and were are the wiring goes to?
